Our Mission

Approved by the TN Department of Corrections, Aphesis House exists to provide comprehensive transitional services for men seeking recovery after seasons of incarceration, addiction, co-occurring disorders, and homelessness. We seek to develop the physical, emotional, mental, and social well-being of the men while equipping them with personal and professional skills necessary to achieve self-sufficiency as productive, law-abiding members of society.

We believe that no one is beyond redemption, regardless of the nature or scope of mistakes they have made in the past. This conviction is at the core of everything we do and is why Aphesis House is one of the few transitional housing agencies in Tennessee that will turn no one away based on their criminal history.

While the fight for equality is big, and change can feel impossible, we think making a world of a difference doesn’t always have to look like a grand statement. Sometimes it’s just a matter of looking as far as the city you live in and starting to make meaningful change—one man at a time.

This project is funded under a grant contract with the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.
